Thanks to the abundance of recreational activities in and around Virginia Beach, it is a popular second home destination.  The moderate temperatures allow for outdoor enjoyment year-round.  The average daytime temperature in January is 50 degrees and July is 90 degrees.  The population is very diverse and the city draws 2.5 million visitors per year.  The close proximity of major universities adds to its appeal as a second home or rental home location.  To learn more about Second Home investing, please pick up the book

The Second Homeowner’s Handbook:

 The Allure of Virginia Beach:

The first vacationers in Virginia Beach were the first English Colonists who enjoyed three days at the site of the Cape Henry Lighthouse prior to settling in Jamestown.  Beginning in the 1880’s, the elite socialites of Norfolk would come to enjoy the oceanfront festivities that occurred at the original Cavalier Hotel.  The tourism industry evolved and today, Virginia Beach draws those who enjoy golfing, water activities, and the feeling of a year-round party town.  In addition, the central location on the east coast has enabled the area to have a thriving and proud military presence, including the home of the largest fighter jet facility in the US

Chicks Beach

My home is in this wonderful, relaxing area of Virginia Beach.  Enjoy relaxing on the Chesapeake Bay while having the convenience of wonderful restaurants and recreation nearby.  Flounder fishing along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and jet skiing are some of the most popular water sports in the area.  Skim boarding and sand-dune competitions are the kids' favorite activities.
